Breit Cantor Super Lawyer Award Nominees
Breit Cantor Grana Buckner—June 8, 2021
The team at Breit Cantor couldn’t be prouder that all of our partners, along with several of our associates, have been nominated as Super Lawyers and rising stars. While we are always excited to be included in these honors, this is a familiar experience to many of us. Many members of our team are being recognized for the 15th time this year.
What Are the Super Lawyers Awards?
Super Lawyers is a rating service that selects elite attorneys that have gained significant professional achievement and the respect of their peers. The selection process involves a combination of peer recommendation, independent research, and evaluations completed by other attorneys. The Super Lawyers website lists the profiles of the selected attorneys on the site and in its magazines.
There are two honors given. The first is the Super Lawyers nomination. This is given out as the result of a lengthy evaluation process that measures contributions to the community, experience, special licenses, and case history. The Rising Star award uses the same selection process. However, it is intended to honor lawyers under 40 or attorneys with less than a decade of experience.
2021 Breit Cantor Honorees
Congratulations to Allen Beasley for earning his 5th honor. He has distinguished himself with many years of experience advocating for those who were harmed due to the negligence of others. Allen Beasley has received many other honors, including being listed as one of the Best Lawyers in America.
This is Kevin Biniazan’s third year being honored with the Rising Star nomination. He is very active in the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and is a member of the American Association for Justice. Kevin has an exceptional trial record, having won 75% of all cases he has brought before a jury.
Jeffrey Breit is being honored for the 15th time this year. Perhaps more notably, he’s been a practicing attorney for more than 40 years. Jeffrey has worked on many high-profile cases, including the BP Deepwater Horizon case. Thanks to his representation, injured parties have recovered billions of dollars in damages.
Scott Bucci has now earned his ninth honor as a Super Lawyer. Prior to that, he was honored four times as a Rising Star. Scott has seen more than 125 cases through the trial process to verdict. He’s also successfully argued cases before the Virginia Supreme Court.
Elliott Buckner received his first honor as a Rising Star in 2007. This year, he received his tenth honor as a Super Lawyer. He has advocated for individuals with serious injuries and has won over 45 million dollars on behalf of the injured clients he has represented. Elliot has also been listed among the Legal Elite in Virginia Business Magazine.
Irvin Cantor is another one of our attorneys that is being honored for the 15th year. He has more than 40 years of experience working as a lawyer who protects the best interests of his clients. He has gained widespread respect for his work as a legal advocate for people with traumatic brain injuries.
Congratulations to Joseph Cantor for his third Rising Star honor. Joseph has worked on many cases involving serious injuries and wrongful deaths. He recently played a significant role in a client receiving a $4 million settlement. Like many of our other attorneys, he plays an active role in the Young Trial Lawyers Section.
Stephanie Grana, the current President-Elect for the Virginia Bar Association, has won a total of 15 Rising Star and Super Lawyer honors. Her track record includes more than 50 settlements or verdicts exceeding a million dollars in awards. Stephanie is a past president of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and has been named an Influential Woman of Law by Virginia Lawyers Weekly.
We’re proud to announce that Justin Sheldon has been honored as a Rising Star for six years in a row. Justin is known for his willingness to take tough cases to trial in order to get his injured clients the outcomes they deserve. This approach has also helped him to earn several settlements in excess of a million dollars.
Congratulations to all. Your dedication to representing the injured reflects well on the entire Breit Cantor team.
