Breit Cantor Grana Buckner is Sponsoring Boys in Blue Mentor Program
Courtney Sweasy—February 21, 2020
The Breit Cantor Grana Buckner legal team is excited to announce our 2020 sponsorship of the Boys in Blue mentorship program!
The Boys in Blue program is an initiative that pairs local children with police mentors from the Richmond Police Department. Throughout the school year, kids and their mentors will eat lunch together, attend events, and have conversations about their lives and their communities. The students will also participate in lessons created by the Virginia Department of Education that focus on life skills, character development, decision making, and conflict resolution.
For the 2020 program, we are working with Swansboro Elementary School and J.L. Francis Elementary School. As part of the program, we attended a University of Richmond basketball game with the children and their police mentors.
Breit Cantor Grana Buckner has sponsored the Boys in Blue mentorship program for over two years. We’ve attended other University of Richmond basketball games in the past, as well as provided students and their mentors with T-shirts, lunches, and other resources.
Giving back to our community is highly important to the Breit Cantor Grana Buckner team. In addition to our years of sponsoring Boys in Blue, we have worked with Communities in Schools, the Brain Injury Association of Virginia (BIAV), Community Brain Injury Services (CBIS), the VB Tragedy Fund, the Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Christmas Mother program, and the Boys and Girls Club of Virginia Beach. We have also sponsored the I Love BBQ and Music Festival and the Caleb Wharton Memorial Golf Classic.
