About Breit Cantor Grana Buckner
Dedicated Virginia Personal Injury Lawyers, Based in Richmond & Virginia Beach
Few things are as overwhelming as a sudden accident, devastating personal injury, or unexpected death. At Breit Cantor, we understand this—and we understand that you and your family are likely facing a difficult road ahead. In the wake of an accident, there are often medical bills to be paid, lost wages to be recouped, and loved ones to be looked after. And all of this comes on top of the immense financial, physical, and emotional stress that goes hand-in-hand with such accidents.
While we are unable to negate the difficulties you have already been through, our Richmond and Virginia Beach-based personal injury attorneys, paralegals, investigators, and other staff members are tireless in our commitment to helping clients find comfort, regain their dignity, and exercise their right to fair financial compensation. Our attorneys are consistently listed in the Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s features on “Largest Verdicts in Virginia” and “Largest Settlements in Virginia” because we know how to prepare cases for decisive victories.
At Breit Cantor Grana Buckner, we know the obstacles to justice can feel insurmountable for people who have suffered devastating wrongs. We believe every person deserves the highest caliber legal team that is relentlessly devoted to holding wrongdoers accountable. In the process, we hope to provide our clients a sense of justice and maximum compensation.

In addition, our firm has given our time to contribute to the legal community. Our attorneys have served as Presidents for the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the Brain Injury Association of Virginia, the Virginia Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Lewis Powell Inn of Court, and the Metro Richmond Women’s Bar Association. They have served in leadership roles for numerous other legal, professional, and charitable organizations and have served as co-counsel on numerous significant cases.
When a client comes into our office, they don’t have to worry about being lost in the shuffle. While there are firms that take on a high volume of cases, our firm is dedicated to providing our clients with the attention they deserve from start to finish. We are not planning your case while strategizing for countless others; rather, we only accept a limited number of significant cases at a time. This ensures that we can put our full attention and resources into helping each client who puts their trust in us.
Our history starts in 1979, when Irv Cantor established a law firm in Richmond, Virginia, dedicated to putting clients first and with unrelenting attention to detail in every case. That firm would eventually become Cantor Stoneburner Ford Grana Buckner (CSFGB), one of the leading firms in Virginia for catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases. The attorneys at CSFGB had a well-earned reputation as “big case” lawyers, who applied a team approach to outwork even the biggest defense firms the insurance companies’ money could buy and win over 100 verdicts and settlements in excess of $1,000,000.
Meanwhile, during the 1980s, Jeffrey Breit was assembling a dynamic firm in Norfolk and Virginia Beach, which ultimately became Breit Drescher Imprevento (BDI). BDI has secured some of the largest personal injury and wrongful death verdicts and settlements in Virginia, cementing their position as a go-to firm for complex, significant personal injury and wrongful death cases.
Over the decades the attorneys at CSFGB and BDI continued to win big recoveries for their clients, win awards and accolades from their peers, and ascend to leadership positions in some of the State’s most prominent bar organizations, including having three past presidents and one current president-elect of the 2000+ member Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and three past-presidents of the Virginia chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
Despite their years of individual success, the attorneys at CSFGB and BDI were not content to simply rest on their laurels. Each firm began to separately consider how they could build upon their legacy of client-focused accomplishments to even better serve individuals and families devastated by serious injury and death through the negligence of others. In 2018 the seeds of change were sewn when the attorneys at CSFGB and BDI came together to explore combining the talents, experience and resources of two powerhouse firms. In 2019 the attorneys of CSFGB and BDI combined to become Breit Cantor Grana Buckner. Driven by our passionate commitment to every client and every case, and with a collection of incredibly smart, dedicated, experienced, compassionate attorneys and staff, we can’t wait to see what the next 40 years hold for our firm and its clients.
Fighting for Justice & Support For Our Clients
When it comes to caring for our clients, our firm’s approach is to keep them fully informed while addressing their immediate needs. Catastrophic injuries require a great deal of focus and personal dedication to achieve big results. We empower our clients to focus on their recovery while we focus on the details of their case. Our award-winning staff helps answer their questions at all hours, calm their fears, and help them face the future with confidence, dignity, and peace of mind.
Our firm offers our service on a contingency fee basis—we pay all the costs of our clients’ cases upfront, and they do not owe us a fee unless they win a jury award or a settlement. No matter who you are, you always have access to the highest quality personal injury litigation. With us, justice is never out of reach.
When it comes to cases and opponents, our attorneys are among the fiercest and most relentless lawyers anyone is likely to meet. Since 1979, our Richmond personal injury lawyers have stood against the largest and most prepared opponents in the nation, securing huge verdicts and settlements for our clients. If an insurance company or manufacturer offers a settlement that does not take care of our client’s needs entirely, we fearlessly take them to court—and our opponents know this. That’s why we have been able to secure some of the largest settlements in Virginia history.
